Cindya is a graduate of City University of New York-Baruch College with a degree in Accounting. Cindya has been President of the Miss California Latina board since 2008. She has lent her talent and vast skills in Accounting, Finance, Operations and Sales to banking, technology, media and entertainment multinational conglomerates.
Nicole has been with the Miss California Latina organization as Sponsorship and Branding Manager since 2009. She received her BA from Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York and has been in the marketing and advertising arena for the last 20 years. She began her marketing experience in the special events department with the New York Jets and her advertising exposure in the business communications division at Deutsch Advertising. She has managed product launch events for numerous companies in a variety of industries including internet start-up, medical communications, advertising, and online retailers.
Cindy Salaues – Coordinator
Cindy was crowned Miss California Latina in the fall of 2010 in Long Beach California. During her year long reign she served as an ambassador for the state of California, dedicating her time and efforts to non-profit organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Los Angeles Food Bank and Safe Passage. She placed 3rd runner up at the national Miss U.S. Latina, the oldest and most prestigious pageant program for Latin women in the U.S.A , in 2011 in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. After her reign, Cindy went on to appear on the hit TV show, Model Latina, where she was one of the 10 finalist to compete in South Beach, Florida.She later signed to a modeling agency in Los Angeles and went on to work as a model for print and television commercials, as well as with various designers and photographers. Cindy holds a degree in Child and Adolescent Development from California State University Northridge continues to pursue her dreams in modeling as well as giving back to her community.
Jennifer Rodriguez – Director
Jennifer successfully managed to incorporate her business skills and her love for entertainment by having grown Miss California Latina® into the largest state pageant competition for Latinas in the country. In the nine years under her direction, Jennifer established the brand as one of empowerment, servant leadership and opportunity. The organization carries the unique distinction of hosting national corporate partnerships on an annual basis. In 2015, Jennifer added television to the list, by securing a television partnership deal with AztecaTV for the rights to air the state competition.
As an alum of the National Hispana Leadership Institute, Jennifer was nominated in 2013 for the national Millier Coors Lideres Award for her commitment and contributions to the community and was highlighted in Lideres Magazine. She has also been recognized by the city of Los Angeles with an award for her success in the community.
In 2012, Jennifer was among 22 Latin women in the United States selected into the National Hispana Leadership Institute Executive Leadership Program, where she completed a certificate in Executive Leadership from John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
For over four years, The Los Angeles Business Journal’s Latino Business Awards has recognized Jennifer for her business achievements. She has shared her vast skills and knowledge with various organizations and contributed to the growth of companies across several industries.
Known as one of the Bad Girls of Sports, Jennifer co-hosted and co-created On The Inside Sports, a sports podcast featuring the first ever female duo to cover the world of sports. As host for the program, Jennifer traveled the country interviewing sports figures and covering major sporting events sharing her knowledge and entertaining views on the latest sports headlines.
The New York native of Dominican heritage began her career in sports and entertainment at an early age, making one of her most notable marks at the National Football League. Upon graduation from Hofstra University Frank G. Zarb School of Business, Jennifer obtained a position at the National Football League as an intern for Commissioner Paul Tagliabue. After performing above and beyond the call of duty, Jennifer was retained by the NFL to work in the public relations department where she focused on the league’s community affairs. Within her first two years at the league, Jennifer made a notable impact, which quickly took her through the ranks and landed her a position as events coordinator for the NFL. There she worked on major events such as the Super Bowl, Pro Bowl the NFL Draft.
An accomplished dancer, having received her formal training at the world-renowned Alvin Ailey Dance School, Jennifer completed two seasons as an intern at Dance Theater of Harlem. She added beauty queen to her resume in 2003 winning the title of Miss New York Latin Image and placing 3rd at the national competition. A graduate of a two-year Meisner program, along with education from various acting schools in New York City, Jennifer has enjoyed some success as an actress appearing in several off-Broadway plays. Jennifer has also worked as a print model for companies such as Mercedes Benz, Holiday Inn and ORS Hair Care. She has served as host of the Miss U.S. Latina pageant competition for several years.
Jennifer currently lives in Los Angeles, California with her dog Coco Chanel and continues her commitment of empowerment and her passion for all things beauty and sports.
